Ewikon’s new smart Control assistance system makes the power consumption of the mold and hot runner system transparent. By adjusting various parameters accordingly, the process can thus be specifically designed to optimize energy efficiency. All other features of the system, which records, monitors, analyzes and logs data from the entire injection molding production cell, including the hot runner system and associated control technology, will be showcased live on The stall.

The drive units have high-precision permanent position control as well as integrated temperature monitoring. Compared to stepper motor concepts, a higher valve spindle speed can be achieved and thus the cycle time can be further reduced. The current consumption of the motor is regulated as needed depending on the effort required at constant speed. Therefore, the servo drive is also suitable for monitoring the closing force of the valve pin and is particularly energy efficient. Since high closing forces can be generated without problems, the range of applications is extended to larger valve shaft diameters.

The motion Control SD controller, a powerful touchscreen control unit with many functions, was developed for comfortable and clear control of linear actuators. If required, process data can be transmitted to higher-level support and monitoring systems via OPC UA. This facilitates the integration of the system into networked production.
