Hon. Adams Abdul-Salam also urged the government to take urgent action to provide accommodation for the growing number of students in public universities to help alleviate the hardships faced by students.

Making a statement to Parliament on the accommodation issues in public universities across the country, Hon. Adams Abdul-Salam said that the cost of accommodation for students on campus there is too high, making it difficult to access for students of financially poor parents.

He said that apart from traditional halls on campus, the average residence fee ranges between two thousand five hundred (2,500.00 Ghc) to twelve thousand cedis (12,000.00 Ghc) per year which is expensive for students from poor families.
