National Australia Bank: NAB announces WA bushfire customer relief measures

NAB today announced its disaster relief program for customers in areas affected by the bushfires in Western Australia.

NAB is encouraging customers affected by the bushfires to contact the bank when they are ready to discuss a range of financial relief measures, including:

  • Credit card and personal loan relief

  • Abolition of the establishment tax for the restructuring of commercial installations

  • ​​​​​​​Concessional loans to clients seeking support to restructure existing facilities to assist with repairs, resupply and reopening of businesses

  • Relief and moratorium on home and personal loan repayments

  • NAB Assist teleconsultations for clients

  • Support for the well-being of colleagues and clients

Jeff Pontifex, director of business banking for NAB, regional and WA agribusiness, said the measures allow customers to access immediate financial support.

“We know this is affecting many people across Western Australia – we are here to help and the number one priority is to stay safe,” Mr Pontifex said.

“We are here to support all customers, employees and the NAB community before, during and after a natural disaster. Anyone needing help or advice can contact us so we can discuss their situation and find the best way to help.”
