Faraday continues to expand its Ethernet solutions for networking demands in the ASIC

HSINCHU, Taiwan–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Faraday Technology Corporation (TWSE: 3035), a leading ASIC design service and IP provider, announced that its silicon-proven Gigabit Ethernet PHY on UMC’s 28HPC+ process and is now available for new SoC ASIC designs and IP licensing. This new IP, based on a 28nm node, offers the advantages of low power consumption and high performance. Combined with Faraday’s networking solutions, it can facilitate the efficient development of a wide range of applications such as industrial switches, home gateways, xPON, smart home appliances, access layer switches, routers and factory automation.

Faraday’s recently released Gigabit Ethernet PHY offers both 1000BASE-T copper media access and 100BASE-FX optical media access. It can implement a 3.3V GbE PHY using 1.8V IO which makes this IP easily integrated into the low-power 28HPC + 1.8V SoC platform. This GbE PHY also uses DSP-based filtering to achieve superior anti-interference performance. Additionally, the solution supports both flip-chip and wire-bond layouts to meet customer’s package requirements for high-performance SoCs or cost-effective applications.
