Mumbai: EKA, an electric vehicle and technology company, and a subsidiary of Pinnacle Industries Limited, announced the conclusion of a long-term strategic collaboration, initiated through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), with Log9 Materials, an advanced battery technology startup based in Bengaluru. . The partnership is primarily aimed at providing the advanced Log9 RapidX fast-charging battery solution for EKA’s new energy vehicles, including their recently launched pure electric bus range, EKA E9 and the soon to be launched light commercial vehicle range. .
Notably, Log9’s RapidX batteries are India’s first such batteries for electric buses and SSVs that come with a 15-year warranty, long lifespan (over 15,000 charge-discharge cycles ) and are powered by InstaCharge battery technology. which allows a charging time of less than 30 minutes on EKA’s LCV and e-Bus platforms. Additionally, these LCVs and e-Buses powered by Log9’s batteries will be made available to the large-scale market in the next 3-6 months. Following the launch of the respective vehicle platforms, as part of the collaboration, EKA and Log9 will aim to deploy at least 10,000 InstaCharged LCVs and more than 200 e-Buses within a year. The vehicles will be deployed initially in the Mumbai and Pune metropolitan areas and then rolled out to other metros and geographies.
