Canadian owner CSL has acquired a minority stake in the designer and supplier of bulk material handling systems EMS-Tech.
The Montreal-based company said the investment will build on the synergies developed between CSL and EMS-Tech over the past 25 years and leverage the companies’ respective strengths in providing advanced cargo handling solutions.
EMS-Tech has provided innovative solutions to the bulk material handling industry, many of which can be found on self-unloading vessels and transloading assets owned and operated by CSL.
“We are delighted to be working with CSL to advance integrated marine and land-based material handling systems,” said Peter Sorensen, President and Owner of EMS-Tech. “We believe project partnerships with CSL will bring our industry-leading expertise and know-how to new markets and geographies.
“Since CSL began working with EMS-Tech in 1996, aligning our complementary capabilities has produced cutting-edge cargo handling solutions for our customers,” said Louis Martel, President and CEO of CSL .
“This investment is an extension of our confidence in the capabilities and growth potential of EMS-Tech, and a continuation of our commitment to provide our global customers with a full range of safe, sustainable and efficient services.
EMS-Tech will continue to be managed independently by its current team.
